(z)     1906-11   pre-provincial issues, being the responsibility of the individual owners.
        1912-18, 23-25   annual issues of a single plate in varying colours: see Table 3. SASK vertically at the left, the year vertically at the right, with numeric registration.
        1919-22    SASK above a crest above 1919, revalidated for the next three years by metal tabs.
        1926-27    SASK diagonally above the year prefixing (1926) or suffixing (1927) a serial number.
        1928-50    SASKATCHEWAN in full (except SASK-43), the year in full 1928-32, 49-50 and the last two digits otherwise;  numeric registrations.   Slogan CORONATION YEAR in 1937 only.

(y)     1951-59    SASKATCHEWAN and the last two digits of the year, and the slogan WHEAT PROVINCE (except for GOLDEN JUBILEE 1955).   Experimental reflective plates exist for 1958-59.
        1960-76   name in full, year in full in 1967, 1969-1971, last two digits otherwise; no slogan except for:  DIAMOND JUBILEE 65, CANADA CENTENNIAL (1967) and HOME OF THE RCMP (1973).   The registration was up to six numerals with a mid-line period before the last three.   Amateur radio plates were authorized in 1960.
        1970   reflective plates commenced.

(x)     1977   current series, replacing numeric only registrations with alphanumeric. HBB-HZZ, JBB-JZZ and MBB-MZZ (except MDB-MDZ) were originally allocated for passenger cars, then ABB-AZZ, BBB-BZZ, CBB-CZZ, KBB-KZZ, LBB-LZZ, NBB-NZZ, SBB-SZZ, TBB-TZZ, RBB-RZZ and WBB-WZZ were added. At the lower left was a month revalidation sticker.   Snowmobiles originally used the prefixes WB-WZ and YB-YZ but in 1981 these were amalgamated with motorcycle series plates.
        Mar 83   personalized plates commenced.
        Feb 90   three letter registration blocks ceased to be used for particular vehicle classes, now denoted only by a sticker.
        1998   typeface of legends changed, slogan added, and letters suffixed the numerals.   APPORTIONED stickers brought into use.
        10 Nov 04   veteran plates first issued.
