CURRENT SERIES
(a) The current Saskatchewan registration plates were first issued in 1977 for five years but since extended indefinitely. The current bases were first issued in 1998 and have reflective green lettering on a reflective white ground, with a graphic design of a sheaf of wheat in gold in the centre. The provincial name Saskatchewan is at the top of the plate in a serif typeface, and at the bottom is the slogan Land of Living Skies.
Registrations are of three numerals and three letters, starting on the current style plates in 1998 at 100 AAA.
Since 1999 only rear plates are revalidated by an annual sticker in the lower right corner. A sticker in the lower left corner indicates the vehicle class, see Table 1. Since 1997 a sticker in the lower centre has indicated the day of the month of expiration.
Apportioned plates have a sticker with the word APPORTIONED placed over the slogan.
